Fighting Through the Noise

In a gritty road win at Memorial Stadium, No. 21 Michigan edged Nebraska 30–27 to kick off Big Ten play. The Wolverines leaned heavily on their ground game, racking up 286 rushing yards and averaging 8.7 yards per carry, led by Justice Haynes' 149-yard performance, including a 75-yard touchdown burst.

Freshman QB Bryce Underwood showcased his athleticism in his first Big Ten road start, using his legs to extend drives and score on a 37-yard run, despite modest passing numbers. Nebraska tied the game at halftime with a dramatic Hail Mary, but Michigan's defense responded with seven sacks and limited the Huskers to just a late field goal. Nebraska's Dylan Raiola threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns but was under constant pressure and tossed his first interception of the season.
